Taking cues from the Adinkra Series, this piece pays homage to the Mvinje tree. Shaping the artistic pair, the tree’s form was utilized to inform their design. The Mvinje Earrings, a part of the Tree/Miti series, draw inspiration from the Casuarina equisetifolia or Whistling Pine. Intricately mirroring the tree’s distinctive form, they capture the essence of daily interactions, experiences, and the beauty of nature. This piece mirrors TK’s design philosophy, transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary.

The following pieces are part of our ADINKRA project. This project is an ode to ADINKRA SYMBOLS. Adinkra are visual symbols, originally created by the Akan of Ghana and the Gyaman of Cote d’Ivoire in west Africa that represents concepts or original thoughts. They can also be used to communicate evocative messages that represent parts of their life or those around them.
